The Pakistan Interior minister said he had sent a private message to India's Home Minister P Chidambaram after the Osama operations, appealing to him "to not allow the Osama bin Laden operation to cast a shadow on relations with India". He described Mr Chidambaram as a "man of wisdom; I have a lot of respect for him."
