Set To Join BJP, 'Metro Man' Sreedharan Says He Was Impressed By Vajpayee
At 88 years old, India's metro man, Dr E Sreedharan sprung a political surprise when he announced his decision to join the BJP just before the Kerala elections. Dr Sreedharan tells NDTV that it wasn't just his admiration for Prime Minister Narendra Modi but the values of the BJP that prompted him to join the party. He also says he was impressed by former PM Atal Bihari Vajpayee, who had insisted on buying his own metro ticket during one of its launches.
