Nestled amid coffee plantations and misty hills are the monolithic statue of Gomateshvara at Shravanabelagola, the intricately carved Hoysala temples at Belur and Halebid, and the equally impressive temple at Sringeri built by the successors of the Hoysala dynasty, the Vijaynagara kings.
