Borichivari, a tribal village in Nashik district's Taluka Peth, is grappling with an acute water crisis as wells have dried up, leaving residents-especially women-no choice but to walk nearly 2.5 kilometers daily to fetch water. The situation has become so dire that women are risking their lives by descending into deep, crumbling wells to collect small amounts of murky water, often under the anxious gaze of fellow villagers. The crisis, worsened by erratic monsoons and poor water management, has not only disrupted daily life but also endangered lives, highlighting the urgent need for sustainable water solutions in rural Maharashtra.
