Blind since birth, Shekhar Naik recovered about 25-30 percent vision in his right eye after an operation. He began playing International Cricket in the 2002 World Cup. He captained India to victories at the 2012 T20 Blind Cricket World Cup and the Blind Cricket World Cup 2014. Today, the Padma Shri awardee runs the cricket academy, Shekhar Naik Foundation, giving hope to aspiring blind cricketers.
