Maharashtra Chief Minister Eknath Shinde has said that the ruling Mahayuti suffered losses in the Lok Sabha polls owing to the Opposition's claim that the Constitution would be amended and caste-based reservation done away with if the BJP returned to power. This was because the BJP's "400-paar" slogan created misconceptions in people's minds. This comes two days after the NCP refused to join the Modi Council of Ministers saying they were offered the MoS berth instead of a cabinet. With the assembly elections just 3 months away, the Mahavikas Aghadi partners too are flexing their muscles.
