Most of us know that Shimla was once the summer capital of the British raj. Most of us also know that Shimla is one of the smallest yet most beautiful capitals in the country. The daily influx of tourists during the peak season is so high that it equals the local population here in numbers. Over the years, this has created massive pressure on the infrastructure and resources. The Ridge which can easily be called the spine and the backbone of the city is slowly sinking. In fact, experts say that Himachal Pradesh being in the high seismic zone, means that one fatal bolt and major area of the city could end up just as one flat piece of land.
