Shiv Sena protects 'outsiders'
A slum in Kalva near Thane is a paradox of sorts. It houses 12,000 families whose inhabitants are mostly from small towns of Uttar Pradesh, including Jaunpore, Allahabad, Basti and Gorakhpore. Over the last decade, the slum has grown, with its residents including part-time labourers and construction workers.
