Tension In Shivamogga After Bajrang Dal Activist's Murder

A tense atmosphere prevails in Karnataka's Shivamogga, with over 1000 police personnel deployed on the streets to maintain law. The increased force comes after a procession carrying the mortal remains of Bajrang Dal member were carried, in which 5,000 people participated defying prohibitory orders. Stray incidents of stone-pelting and arson were reported. At least 10 persons have been injured in the stone-pelting incidents and around 8 vehicles have been damaged in the arson. Sec 144 has been imposed till 6am tomorrow. Schools and colleges will remain shut.
