"Should Learn From Faiz, Manto Instead Of Vilifying Them": Nandita Das

In her first TV interview about her book "Manto & I", actor, filmmaker and author Nandita Das spoke to NDTV about the Citizenship Amendment Act, the citizens' list NRC, student protests and the controversy around Faiz Ahmad Faiz's poem "Hum Dekhenge". "I can't even imagine, it's really surprising to even think that a protest poem and someone like Faiz will be accused of being bigoted or being partisan or being anti-anything. He was a true liberal like (Saadat Hasan) Manto and they were a different breed. We should be learning from them instead of vilifying them,"Nandita Das said.
