Should Rs 28 a day be poverty cut-off?
Sixty five after independence, the country has witnessed the biggest fall in poverty. But with the Planning Commission setting Rs 28 a day in cities and Rs 22 a day in rural areas as the point of demarcation between the rich and the poor, are the figures a fair yardstick?
