In this week's episode of Walk The Talk, Anil Kakodkar, India's most well-known nuclear scientist and the former Chairman of the Board of Directors of IIT, Mumbai, gets candid on issues of India's nuclear power generation capabilities and addresses the fears regarding it with respect to Pakistan and China and India's nuclear tests. He says that the civilian nuclear agreement could bring India under IAEA safeguards which could be detrimental to the growth of its nuclear power generation capabilities. On the education front he brings up the sensitive issue of selection of the Directors of India's premier technology institutes, the IITs. He comments that the selection process is carried out arbitrarily and is lottery-like which amounts to an unprofessional conduct.
