Significance Of Dalai Lama's Sikkim Visit
His Holiness the Dalai Lama is in Sikkim for a visit to the border state. Sikkim shares an international border with China and the Dalai Lama's visit is bound to draw diplomatic attention. After concluding the Northeast visit, the Dalai Lama is scheduled to visit Bodh Gaya from December 20 to January 1 for engagements including an inauguration, a prayer session, teachings, and a long-life offering ceremony. The Dalai Lama is visiting Sikkim after 13 years. He virtually laid the foundation stones of Karmapa Park project at Rumtek and Gyalwa Lhatsun Chenpo statue project at Simmik Khamdong constituency in Gangtok district.
