Singur: Mamata wants better compensation

Trinamool Congress leader Mamata Banerjie's unflinching stand on her demand is forcing the government to try and work out a better compensation package. This, despite the government maintaining that the compensation package by them is one of the best in the country. For instance, for every acre of single-crop land bought in Singur the West Bengal government paid almost Rs 8 and a half lakhs and upto Rs 12 Lakh for each acre of multi-crop land.
