India's veteran Davis Cup star Leander Paes justified his decision to skip the upcoming Asian Games in Incheon saying it was important for him to collect ATP points and earn his bread and butter. Speaking to NDTV in Bangalore after a fighting India went down 3-2 in a World Group playoff tie versus Serbia on Monday, Paes said it was relevant for him and doubles partner Radek Stepanek to win ATP points because the pair's ranking has plummeted from No. 9 to 35 in 10 days. Having represented India continuously for 24 years, Paes says the future looks good as younger players like Somdev Devvarman, Yuki Bhambri and Rohan Bopanna were improving every day. Paes will be on the road starting this week with ATP events coming up in Kuala Lumpur, Tokyo and Valencia.
