A political storm has erupted after an expose by online portal Cobrapost.com that alleges that top Narendra Modi aide and former Gujarat Home Minister Amit Shah was involved in illegal surveillance of a young woman, at the behest of his 'Saheb'. While the BJP has spent no time in rubbishing the charges and questioned the timing, the Congress has demanded a judicial probe into the case alleging that greater issues of misuse of state machinery and the violation of the fundamental rights of the woman were involved. Even as the courts look into this alleged abuse of state power, will the BJP respond to the Congress' allegations? We discuss.
