Soldiers rue an indifferent society
The story of the Indian jawan, brought home to millions on television. The popularity of such TV shows is testimony to the emotive appeal of the idea of sacrifice, not just by the jawan, but by his entire family. But it's easier perhaps to celebrate the jawan's sacrifice on TV rather than witness it in real life.
