He led a 170-man team on a 16-hour rescue mission in the deadly heights of Siachen back in March 2003. Soon after, he was diagnosed with frostbite and had two fingers and toes on his right foot amputated. At 25, after four years of serving in the Indian Army, Captain Sachin Bali's career as a soldier was over.
