Every fourth person in this bustling London suburb is an immigrant. Multiculturalism, which Britain adopted with much pride, is under fierce attack now. In the aftermath of London bombings, multiculturalism has come to be equated with separatism and ghettoization, especially in relation to the Muslim community. In an era where terrorism is setting the agenda, there is much less space for differences. One of the most visible symbols of these differences is the Islamic veil.
