MS Dhoni to Co-Produce his Biopic
Cricketer MS Dhoni is reportedly co-producing his biopic which features actor Sushant Singh Rajput in the titular role. The film directed by Neeraj Pandey had earlier gone through a rough patch but now has set it sails. Sports biopics (and biopics in general) are in vogue in Bollywood. With the success of stories of Bhaag Milkha Bhaag and Mary Kom in mind, Bollywood is looking forward to the biopics of Kishore Kumar, Sahir Ludhianvi and Amrita Pritam, among others.

Sporting biopics seem to be the flavour of the season as many filmmakers are gunning for one. According to reports, the biopic rights of Indian cricket skipper Mahendra Singh Dhoni are up for grabs but the asking price, which is close to Rs 45 crores, is stalling the makers. Director Neeraj Pandey who wanted to make the biopic with actor Sushant Singh Rajput is clearly in a fix now as the producers may find it incredibly difficult to make profit from the film after buying rights at such exorbitant prices.
