It has been a stupendous fall from grace of the family which once appeared to run most aspects of life in Sri Lanka. As Lankans struggle amidst the worst economic crisis since its independence from Britain in 1948, the Rajapaksa brothers, once seen as heroes, have become villains in Sri Lanka. The protests forced Mahinda Rajapaksa to flee his home. Though Gotabaya remains in power, the chorus for his resignation grows louder.
