With the Union Budget 2024-25 scheduled to be presented in July, apple growers in Srinagar are demanding the reinstatement of the Market Intervention Scheme (MIS) in the Union Territory. Apple growers emphasise that, under the scheme, the government's procurement of inferior quality C-grade apples helped increase the farmers' income.
