You can stand tall on one leg and achieve great heights too. That is what two determined young men from Telangana have shown the world. Arya Varadan, 17 and Sheikh Arshad, 26, have created a record by becoming the first above-knee-amputees to climb over 18,000 feet. The duo climbed Mount Bhagirathee and Arya is also the youngest to climb the peak. Both of them lost a leg in a road accident at a young age. Supported by the Aditya Mehta foundation and the Border Security Force, the two of them have raised the bar for themselves and now want to show they can stand on their own feet in every sense.
