Starbucks baristas will launch five days of strikes Friday, after accusing the coffee giant of stalling union contract negotiations. Starbucks Workers United said late Thursday that its members will walk out of union stores in Los Angeles, Chicago and Seattle, three major markets, beginning Friday morning. In another development, Amazon workers across seven facilities in New York, Georgia, California and Illinois are on strike to lobby for better benefits, higher wages and safer working conditions.
