Stock Markets Slump From Day’s High Amid Sell-Off In Banking,Metal Stocks
Equity benchmark indices Sensex and Nifty ended Monday's trading session with losses, erasing gains from early trade amid selling pressure in Banking and Metal stocks. As the New Year approaches, market activity remained subdued across the globe which further dented investors’ sentiments. The 30-share BSE Sensex declined 450 points to close at 78,248; whereas the NSE Nifty shed 168 points to settle at 23,644.
