Stray bear shot dead by authorities
A wild bear that had strayed into a village in the Nabrangpur district in Orissa killed five people and mauled five others before it was shot dead by the police late on Wednesday. The bear attacked a group of people on Wednesday night near a cashew plantation and killed four people on the spot. The local people failed to either capture or control the animal.
