Stunning Katra-Banihal Train Journey Over Highest Railway Chenab Bridge in J&K
Indian Railways has successfully conducted a trial run on the Katra-Banihal section, which includes the iconic Chenab Bridge as part of the Udhampur-Srinagar-Baramulla Rail Link (USBRL) project. This milestone brings the project closer to its operationalization. The Chenab Bridge, the world’s highest railway bridge, is a marvel of engineering and a testament to the challenges overcome in the region’s complex topography. The final CSR inspection is scheduled for January 7-8, after which regular trains will be operational on this vital rail corridor.
