The brazen shooting of Karni Sena Leader Sukhdev Singh Gogamedi led to widespread protests in Rajasthan, with Rajput groups calling for bandhs and protests across the state. The police have said it's a case of gang rivalry. The Rajputs are key voters for the BJP. There is now a chance that the case may be handed over to the National Investigation Agency (NIA), with Rajput leader Rajendra Rathore write a letter to the Governor demanding a probe by the anti-terror agency. Several questions have been asked about Gogamedi, the leader of the Shri Rastriya Rajput Sena, who was expelled from the original Rajput Karni Sena. Gogamedi has close to 30 cases against him. With the Rohit Godara gang claiming responsibility for his murder, police sources say it could be inter-gang rivalry that led to his killing.
