Sonia Gandhi can be mentor, Rahul should lead: Digvijaya Singh to NDTV
The Congress Working Committee on Tuesday decided to attack Prime Minister Narendra Modi and his government but didn't even discuss the future role of Vice President Rahul Gandhi in the party. Speaking exclusively to NDTV, Congress general secretary and member of the CWC Digvijaya Singh says it's time for Rahul Gandhi to take complete charge of the Congress and that could happen when the All India Congress Committee's election process is over mid-year. Sonia Gandhi, he says, should move into the role of a mentor or that of the chairperson of the UPA. He also speaks on the Congress' agitation against the land ordinance and why instead of embarrassment, he feels 'empathy' for Shashi Tharoor after a formal murder case has been registered in the death of his wife Sunanda Pushkar.
