Supreme Court Delivers Unanimous Decision on Land Acquisition Case
The Supreme Court five-judge Constitution bench in a unanimous verdict held that compensation paid to land owners at government treasury completes the land acquisition process. This decision has reversed the 2014 verdict which said payment has to be in court. Land acquisition lapsing can only take place when compensation is not paid and possession not taken in pending proceedings.
