Supreme Court's Warning To Government, Police On Hate Speech Cases

Two days after United Nations Secretary-General Antonio Guterres criticised India over its human rights record and growing hate speeches during a three-day visit, the Supreme Court on Friday made some of its strongest comments yet on the subject. Four bodies were recovered from the site where an army helicopter carrying five people crashed in Arunachal Pradesh's Upper Siang district on Friday. According to reports, the weapon system integrated version of an Advanced Light Helicopter (ALH) crashed near Migging village. The site of the crash is not connected by any road, but three aerial rescue teams were sent to the location, army sources said, adding that two have reached the site. With Diwali just round the corner, people in Delhi are flocking to the markets in large numbers for festive shopping. This has resulted in traffic jams in several parts of the city.
