Supreme Court tears down 'poster boys': Will netas fall in line?
The Supreme Court, in a historic judgement, has banned the use of photographs of politicians, party symbols and flags from government advertisements. Only the Prime Minister, President and Chief Justice of India are exempt from the ban. On 'The Buck Stops Here', we debate if this judgement is a welcome development or if it is a case of the judiciary going too far and infringing on the right of the executive. Is the court being unfair to Chief Ministers when it exempts the Prime Minister from the 'no-photo' rule? Will political parties gang up to oppose the Supreme Court order? And is the order a disadvantage for the BJP, which completes one year in office this month?
