The win helped India maintain their unbeaten streak in the ongoing tournament. Suryakumar Yadav scored 53 off 28 as India posted a total of 181 for 8 in 20 overs after Rohit Sharma won the toss and opted to bat. Rashid Khan (3 for 26) and Fazalhaq Farooqi (3 for 33) played a huge role in domolishing India's top and middle-order but the Suryakumar-Hardik Pandya partnership of 60 runs ensured India of a good total on the board. Later, Jasprit Bumrah's 3 for 7 helped India bowl out Afghanistan for 134.
