The Swachhta Abhiyan is to make the country healthy, said Union Health Minister Dr Harsh Vardhan today at NDTV's Banega Swasth India 12-hour Swasthagraha. "This is because, if any programme or intervention is taking place on sanitation, the impact will lead to reduction in diseases, due to reduction in germs," the minister said. "Even after being provided free of cost, about 20% of children is not being covered as the parents do not bring them to the centres to get the vaccination done," the minister added.
