Tamil Nadu has announced a two-week lockdown, which began this morning. Only shops selling groceries, fruits, vegetable, fish and meat are allowed to stay open till 12 PM. Chief Minister MK Stalin says this is the only way to break the chain. He has deployed 22 ministers to ensure total lockdown in 14 hotspot districts. In Chennai alone, 10.000 policemen are on duty. NDTV's Sam Daniel caught up with Deputy Commissioner of Mylapore, Thirunavukkarasu, who said that cops have been instructed to be polite and courteous with public and to use force only if its for self defence.
