Tamil Nadu's Jallianwala Bagh: Should Police Have Opened Fire On Anti-Sterlite Protesters?
Its being called Tamil Nadu's Jallianwala Bagh tragedy. 11 people shot dead by the police in Tamil Nadu including another person today, all citizens protesting the expansion of a Sterlite copper plant in Tuticorin. Why did the police have to use such brutal force on protestors? Why weren't rubber bullets used? Is it just OK for the state government to say that the circumstances were unavoidable and get away from scrutiny?
