Several parts of Tamil Nadu remain submerged after numerous reservoirs overflowed and rivers swelled due to continuous rains over the past few days, disrupting normal life across districts. Thousands of acres of crops remain submerged in the Thanjavur and Thiruvarur districts of Tamil Nadu due to floods caused by recent rains. According to farmers, the overflow of water from the Kandiarajan canal and Korai River is responsible for flooding vast areas of cultivated land. They have demanded compensation for the losses incurred due to the floods.
