On the Buck Stops here, controversial Bangladeshi author Taslima Nasreen confirms that the Indian government has decided to grant her residential visa. This comes after Ms Nasreen met Home Minister Rajnath Singh and requested him that she be allowed to stay in India for a longer period. Ms Nasreen had expressed her anguish after the government on Wednesday refused her a one-year visa giving instead a temporary permission to stay in India for two months. The author told NDTV she was very grateful to the government but that she would be very happy if she as a Bengali author was allowed to stay in Kolkata.
