Techie throws newborn daughter into well

Twenty nine-year-old Niranjan Kumar, a Bangalore-based techie, has been arrested by the Chennai Police for throwing his newborn baby into a well. The motive -- he wanted to teach his 22-year-old wife Sangeetha a lesson for having a child against his wishes. "He didn't want my daughter to conceive and said she could have a child after five years. He kept putting pressure on her to find a job instead," infant's grandfather R Balasubramaniam said.
