After a bumper harvest, paddy farmers across Telangana are in distress because in paddy procurement centres across the state, farmers are waiting not just for weeks but months to sell their produce. Out in the open, the foodgrains are being lashed by rain and going waste. This even as TRS MPs are protesting in Parliament demanding a uniform procurement policy and Telangana chief minister has lashed out at the Central government for not buying kharif paddy and refusing to buy rabi paddy. Farmers say their lives are caught in the crossfire.
