The Telangana Cyber Security Bureau has arrested 48 people, including 38 mule account holders who have allowed their accounts to be knowingly misused. Over 2,000 cases of cyber fraud have been detected in the state.
From lecturers to IT professionals to cab drivers, seemingly regular folks with day jobs, are providing critical support to cybercriminals in defrauding crores of rupees, just by providing an Aadhaar card and PAN number for a commission. Using those, fake documents and mule accounts are created through which crores of money is looted by cyber fraudsters. Without these bank accounts, no money can be moved.
