Thane farmers face harsh life
Maharashtra government may be still debating whether or not to declare famine in Thane district, but on the ground hunger appears less of an abstract thought and more a real threat. People in Thane, on the outskirts of India's commercial capital, are so poor that they cannot even afford to eat a proper meal.
