Barring the setback in Punjab, BJP has won handsomely in UP and Uttarakhand, formed government in Goa and Manipur, became the largest party in Maharashtra's municipal and Zilla Parishad polls, dislodged Congress from being the main opposition in Odisha's municipal and panchayat polls, and trounced AAP in Delhi civic polls. What explains BJP's winning spree? Is it the Modi factor or is it due to the fact that there is no viable opposition at the national level?
