The Dream Run Of Silai School Women Continues

This time the focus is on the shortlisted women from Jaipur and Ahmedabad and their preparation of the final garments for the Lakme Fashion Week. Sunita Devi a mother of two, used to work as a daily wage earner, toiling in the farms till she joined Silai school. Disheartened with the constant humiliation of not being able to bear a child, Santosh turned her life around with the training from Silai school. Like Sunita and Santosh, Rekhaben too has come a long way from a life full of struggles. Today she is part of the Ahmedabad cluster of the Silai Label movement which helps these women to team up with professional fashion designers to create a clothing line and puts their work on the ramp of Lakme Fashion Week.
