This week has been one where we saw the tragic killing of Amarnath Yatra pilgrims, in a bid that Mehbooba Mufti, chief minister of Jammu and Kashmir said was to disrupt communal harmony. Its also been a week where states across India pitched battles over a toxic mix of religious and political fault lines from Bengal to Karnataka to Kerala. There were more incidents of violence in the name of the cow despite a strong statement from Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
