This week on The NDTV Dialogues, our focus is Indian women in Indian boardrooms as companies across the country scramble to meet government and SEBI deadline to have at least one woman independent director on their boards. What the search actually revealed was illuminating to many. A few women were deluged with so many offers they had to refuse some. Other companies just went the 'bahu, beti, biwi' route, perhaps taking a leaf from politics. The good thing about it is that it has begun a process which is irreversible. It forces companies to think out of the box to look for new talent. Joining NDTV on this debate are Infosys Founder NR Narayan Murthy; Country Head of HSBC India, Naina Lal Kidwai; Sunil Munjal, Joint Managing Director, Hero MotoCorp and Management Consultant Rama Bijapurkar.
