Poll strategist and JDU Vice President Prashant Kishor has openly opposed his party's support to the Citizenship Amendment Act. Speaking to NDTV, he said, that the combination of Citizenship Amendment Act with National Registry of Citizens is 'unacceptable because the moment you combine it with the NRC it becomes discriminatory not only on the basis of the religion but also on the basis of the class and you're making all those who are poor irrespective of whichever cast or religion they belong to go through unimaginable suffering'. Prashant Kishor, who recently met JDU chief Nitish Kumar said, "party has always said that there is no need for NRC in Bihar and he has assured me that there is no reason for him or for the party to change this stance, and I have full faith that there will be no NRC in Bihar, come what (may)." On nationwide NRC, Mr Kishor saidm "non -JP chief ministers are 16 and that account for 65 % of the Indian population...I have no doubt in my mind that it is not possible".
