Prime Minister Narendra Modi today said that his "government was for the poor" and hit out at critics, saying lies were being spread about the land acquisition bill by "perverted minds". The PM's remarks came just ahead of a farmers' rally at Delhi's Ramlila grounds where Congress Vice President Rahul Gandhi tore into the government over the contentious bill that his party has described as "anti-farmer".
