Tiger burning: India needs to balance act
The National Geographic Society estimates that one lakh tigers roamed free on the earth at the turn of last century. However, the number was down to nearly 7000 when the 20th century ended.In other words about 95 per cent of the world's tiger population has been decimated in the last 100 years.
