A massive row has erupted in Andhra Pardesh over animal fat found in Tirupati Laddoos. Andhra Pradesh CM Chandrababu Naidu has slammed rivals YSR Congress and Jagan Mohan Reddy, over a lab report over the presence of animal fats in ghee used to make laddoos offered as prasad at the temple town of Tirupati. A July report from a lab at the centre-run National Dairy Development Board in Gujarat that was released recently said it found animal fat in ghee .. the report indicated traces of fish oil and beef tallow, and lard; which is formed with the fatty tissue of a pig. The CM now maintains that his government has ensured a higher quality of ingredients, including ghee, is being used now, and that that all food offerings at the iconic temple were now of improved quality. The YSRCP, however, has slammed the allegations as "malicious"... and accused the TDP of lying for political gain. The party also said it was Chandrababu Naidu who had damaged the sanctity of the temple, and of the crores of devotees, by making such outrageous comments.
